So where did bulgur come from?

Bulgur is a risky variety typical for Asian countries, from which, for example, in the more southern part of Asia, dishes such as pilaf or bulgur with vegetables are prepared; in the northern part, rice is mainly used to make dough for dishes such as mochi, for example, but in the eastern and western In some parts, rice is no longer so common, at least bulgur occupies the smallest share there.

To the question of where bulgur came from, it is understandably impossible to get a clear answer, since our vast world distorts history even at the distance of one person, let alone gastronomy, which originated long before the first people learned to speak.

An indisputable fact can be considered that the first rice was brought to China, but from where? There are four opinions on this: the first say that the main supplier of rice at that time was ancient Mongolia, whose territory at that time belonged to China, others refer to the wild lands of modern Korea, which, despite the enmity with China, had great trade ties with it. At the same time, there is an opinion that once upon a time bulgur was first obtained on the territory of China itself - either in its current capital, or somewhere in the outskirts.

In the modern world, this type of rice plays a huge role in the culture of many Asian and European countries, where there are a huge number of recipes for preparing bulgur. We will talk about some of them below:

  • If you don't want your eyes to water while cutting onions, constantly dip your knife in ice water.
  • It is much easier to cut garlic if you flatten it with a knife.
