Today I will tell you how long to bake champignons in the oven, and also give 2 simple recipes - mushrooms with sour cream under a cheese crust and a stuffed appetizer.

Features of cooking whole champignons in the oven

Fresh, pickled, or frozen mushrooms are suitable for whole preparation. Fresh is definitely preferable. Champignons prepared in this way retain their rich flavor.

Champignon dishes in the oven are easy to prepare, but there are some nuances:

  • Mushrooms from the freezer should be thawed at room temperature. Otherwise, their structure will collapse.

  2. Baking method. If you cook champignons on skewers or a baking sheet, they begin to bake immediately, and after 25 minutes they can be removed (and small ones a little earlier). But when the mushrooms are placed in a pot, additional time is needed - the walls of the container must warm up thoroughly. In this case it will take approximately 35-40 minutes. And in a heat-resistant tray with thick walls, the dish is cooked for about half an hour.
  3. Related Ingredients. Cooking champignons in liquid or semi-liquid sauce takes approximately 30-35 minutes. And when the dish includes products whose baking time is longer than that of mushrooms, for example, potatoes, you need to be guided by the readiness of the latter.

The optimal temperature for cooking in the oven is 180 degrees. With less, the mushrooms will bake longer, release a lot of juice and end up dry. And if you increase the heat, the skin will begin to burn, but the inside will remain raw.

How long to bake whole champignons in the oven?

The simplest recipe for champignons stuffed with minced meat

What products are needed:

  • champignons with large caps – 12 pcs.;
  • minced meat (pork, chicken, turkey, beef) – 125 g;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • chicken egg – 1 pc.;
  • cheese – 80-100 g;
  • butter – 30-40 g;
  • salt, pepper - a pinch;
  • sour cream – 200 g.

Cooking algorithm step by step:

  1. Cut off the stems of the mushrooms, slightly catching the rounded edges of the caps - this will allow more filling to fit. Cut out the middle of the mushrooms so that only “baskets” remain, convenient for stuffing. Set aside the prepared caps for now, and finely chop the remainder.
  2. Also chop the onion. Melt the butter in a frying pan and add the mushrooms and onions. Brown.
  3. Mix the minced meat with fried onions and mushrooms.
  4. Add an egg to the filling. Add salt and pepper, mix well and stuff the mushroom caps tightly. Sprinkle finely grated cheese on top.
  5. Bake the champignons in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees. Prepare a sauce from the remaining filling and sour cream - mix them and heat over medium heat in a frying pan.
  6. Remove the mushrooms from the oven, pour over the sauce and return to bake for another 5-7 minutes.

No filling

The version of unstuffed mushrooms is extremely simple. In addition, they are no less tasty when cold. To prevent the mushrooms from drying out, you should adhere to the recommended temperature.

Ingredients

You will need:

  • fresh mushrooms – 900 g;
  • mayonnaise – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • mustard – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • salt pepper.

Preparation

  1. Mix mayonnaise, mustard, salt, pepper and pour the resulting mixture over the champignons.
  2. Marinate.
  3. Place the mushrooms on a baking sheet with their stems facing up. Bake at 200°C until done.

Champignons stuffed with cream cheese

Ingredients

  • 15 medium champignons;
  • 1–2 cloves of garlic;
  • salt - to taste;
  • ground black pepper - to taste;
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil;
  • 230 g cream cheese;
  • 30 g breadcrumbs;
  • 50 g parmesan;
  • ¼ bunch of parsley.

Preparation

Chop the mushroom legs and garlic, season with salt and pepper and fry in hot oil until golden brown.

Place in a bowl, add cream cheese, breadcrumbs, half the grated Parmesan, some chopped parsley, salt and pepper. Stir and distribute the mixture over the mushroom caps.

Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese over the champignons. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C for 20 minutes. Before serving, garnish the mushrooms with chopped parsley.
